I try to sit (meditate) a few times a week before I go to work.
I sit quietly, follow my breath, watch my thoughts and feelings come and go.
Many times, a few minutes into the sitting, I will have an itch in my eye or on my hand that I feel like I have to stop and scratch. But I also notice that if I am able to just sit with the itch and not react to it, it will go away by itself. Every time I succeed in not reacting immediately and let it pass I feel very happy and open to trust whatever will come my way that day. Knowing that whatever it is, it will show up and leave. Like anything else. Like an itch.
Can we listen and feel before we react?
I am determined to practice that.
