Thought of the Week - Self Reflection

I participated in a conference of psychologists this past weekend. The subject was psychology during COVID. How interesting it was to listen to a different professional speak about this collective trauma from their point of view and to see the need for community. One speaker that struck me the most was a black psychologist from NYC that spoke about treating black patients during this time. She raised the issue of race, inequality, and how being black with COVID raises so many fears and deep trauma. Stories of black upper-class patients in NYC that were sent back home without treatment while white patients were attended to in the same ER. She discussed what it means to be a black woman sitting...

Thought of the Week - Zoom Zoom Zoom

Today during Zoom we each talked about the 2 or 3 good things that happened to us during Covid. It is so important to acknowledge the difficulties as we tend to ignore the enormous emotional and financial toll these last 10 months took on us but as we are working so hard on surviving, we forget to notice and acknowledge the good that happened. Let me share some of the highlights from today: * Many of us feel we are better buyers and more focused on our businesses since March. * We all deepened our relationships with our customers, friends, and family. * We learned about patience * We learned about gratitude * We learned about loyalty. Thought of the week - I Love You

I don't like to use the words "I love you" much. As an Israeli, I only use it if I really mean it. But I love you! And cannot stop thanking you for keeping me going! ALL of you : Thank you for working with me to pay Spring goods and just move forward. Thank you all for staying in touch! Thank you Monday zoom group that holds me, energizes me, and educates me! Thank you team for never stopping and for working under impossible conditions; and so much pressure! Thank you reps for staying optimistic through this tough time and for always pushing! Quite a shitty year but still so much to be grateful for! I l. o. v....

Thought of the Week - Roni

Meet Roni Rabl, my mom, who taught me how to keep up when things get chaotic. To stay on my toes, look for new opportunities, and never feel sorry for myself when things get tough. Money is never the goal and you show who you are by doing, not by talking. I find it all so handy especially today, a day before the election as we are all nervous and anxious about our country. May we all show patience and tolerance this week towards any outcome and with each other. Thank you mom! Happy Monday, Yael

Thought of the week - The Now

This year requires so much from all of us but it mainly requires us to be creative and change as our world has changed. I keep thinking about the food industry and how it is similar to our industry. Restaurants that couldn’t make the shift into outdoor dining or didn't get better with delivery services closed down. Covid numbers are rising again as restaurants were just preparing to offer indoor dining. New Yorkers dine out! I’m nervous and curious to see how restaurant owners will become creative in the next few months. Those that do, and they are out there, will survive. We have the same job to do! Become creative and learn how to service our ladies differently this...
